Body builders are described as huge, intimidating, extremely built, burly men and women, who we smaller people try to avoid. Well, news flash, our body building principal is not someone to avoid.
Mr. Anderson has a side to him that he rarely reveals to society, his body building ability. He competed at a collegiate level and reached an all American status of 3rd place in the nation, having bench pressed over 500 pounds.

Coaching family: Messicks enjoy state tourney runs

It was a state tournament 20 years in the making for Larry and Joe Messick.
Both the Shoshone and Jerome boys basketball teams qualified in their respective classes, allowing the father and son coaches to share their first state tournament together in two decades. It's an accomplishment that meant a lot to both men.
"There's no question about it," Larry Messick said. "These are special moments that are always with you."
While both Larry and Joe have guided state qualifiers in past seasons, they'd never done so in the same year. The last time they went together was when Joe was a student at Shoshone and a member of Larry's varsity squad. In the late 1980s and early 1990s, the Indians made regular appearances in the tournament and won a state title in 1989.
"It was remarkable," Joe said of that championship season. "My brother (Jim) was a senior, and I was a freshman. It was quite an experience to have."
