Doughnuts for Dads
 Jefferson's annual “Doughnuts for Dads” event was held on Tuesday, February 23rd. A number of dads and grandpas enjoyed having doughnuts with their children. Jefferson students loved showing off their school and sharing some of the things they have been doing.

Jump Rope for Heart
 On February 10 Jefferson Elementary held its "Jump Rope for Heart" party. Thanks to all of the students for working so hard to gather donations for the American Heart Association. Parents, thank you for helping your children in this endeavor. It is a good feeling to know that Jefferson Elementary can makea difference and help out in the fight against heart diseases.

"Steve" Visits Second Grade
 Steve, the corn snake, came to visit Jefferson’s second grade students. We read a story called “The Day Jimmy’s Boa Ate the Wash” and wanted to see, touch and learn about snakes. Thank you to Mr. Shewmaker for letting Steve visit us!

 Box Tops for Education
We have received our first Box Tops for Education check from General Mills in the amount of $492.70. General Mills’ makes a 10¢ cash donation to our school for each specially marked box top submitted. Those little box tops add up fast so keep collecting. Our next collection deadline is March 31.

Jefferson Parent Teacher Organization
 The Jefferson Elementary Parent Teacher Organization (PTO) is excited about getting involved in making Jefferson the best school it can be. The goal of the group is to encourage parent involvement in the school as well as each child's education. Visit the Jefferson PTO website to learn how you can be involved.
